In our last post I mentioned breaking ground this year on the wedding venue expansion. As it turns out there are quite a few processes to building. Especially when it is changing the look of a current building. So we are still another year out. However, We are making headway and accomplishing tasks that need time to establish, such as trees!
This year we had the field cleared and leveled, planted grass and all the perimeter trees. Hense the title. Are you singing the song in your head? I was!
Im so thankful someone taught me "Good things come to those willing to wait" long ago, and I have since added and willing to put in the effort! Things always have to get messy before they can get beautiful.
We also saught help from an outside landscape designer to help put our vision on paper. This part is always a little hard for me to give up control but we found someone who could grasp our ideas and essentially put exactly what we described onto a blueprint. Dont you just love a paint by number!

We met with a few builders and gathered some thoughts and ideas. Changed and rechanged the plan, and honestly I'm not sure we are 100 percent decided on anything, but I feel we are 10 steps closer than we were a year ago. Once again had help from a brilliant family member to pull design thoughts from our heads and lay out a draft design to show to contractors and city building departments. This step was very exciting and helped us to get a realistic view of budget. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g has gone up. We are still optimistic. Still living on faith, and counting on dreams to come true. Its been a busy summer for us. We had a son get married, one off to college at WSU, and a third with a baby on the way, so first grandchild for us! Thats quite a year.
Looking forward to a relaxing fall season, sitting back and watching trees grow.
